Hands story...

Given that hands are, in my opinion, one of the most difficult to achieve, given you want them small and graceful, believable and needle felted...this is my progress...

These have armature inside, I don't know yet if I will go for more detailing like fingernails and so on .

For a certain little doll that was induced for the show in September. I could not finish her, of course, at the time, and she went home with half a face , but after a good couple of hours work or so yet, and that is what you get so far.
A bit of a romantic don't you think?

And in the meanwhile I am about to finish two more dolls that have been in the preparing for a really long time....one of them is a little boy...big challenge!

I rarely take the time to stop and picture the progress of a doll....however as this was a request for this one, I did a few, which I share here.
Yet there was room for changes before completion and I also added a joint in the middle section of the torso, allowing a break in the posture that can be chosen at will.

I actually like this very much that the doll is not covered all by "clothes that hide the structure...what do you think?
I sure will explore ever more this possibility for dolls, as the movement and the line in itself should be expressive enough already, frills and ruffles enhancing but certainly not hiding the line. Here, her covering is rather a texture than a piece of clothe, except for the shrug and she does not feel naked does she.

Cerf was a good opportunity to try this as it is more of an anthropomorphic representation.

Cerf structure is supported on itself and entirely needle felted from scratch, no armature, joints linked by thread at neck, hips and arms, torso. Sometimes, less is more, seems the good choice.
You can check my Zaza doll as well, built in the same spirit (although with armature).

Waiting

Work in progress, waiting for completion....
Oh why is it taking me forever to just...decide  and to just do?

Lil Alice is all there naked and even her insisiting looks can't make me move.
I am stuck in my desire to  do well, like if that very doll shall be the last and my most...and being taunted by a little voice inside that always tells me else...
