Needle felting is the process of creating a 3 dimensional sculpture from raw fibers like wool, with the help of a special barbed needle.
This needle is such in shape and cuts, that it allows each fiber to get caught in it and pushed inside the volume, thus allowing the fibers to interlock in a tight way each time it is pocked in it!
The raw wool fiber is also special in its structure, having some kind of scales that will act as little "hooks" when agitated and pressed.
After quite a while and about a million pocks, you get felt!
To create my dolls, I might first make a wire frame for armature. I would then wrap the fiber around it, and start the needle felting process.
Bits and finds will complete the look and the doll is only complete when I photographed, edited the pictures, and published and promoted them on various places on the net.
You understand that these dolls are not reproducible to identical, they are truly one of a kind sculpt.
