More about Puppy...

Puppy
I have this thing with dogs...and that is the reason Puppy was the first of hybrid dolls I made to recall one...they are so vulnerable.
Like if a human being be locked inside the body of the animal, and they know it....heart breaking to see how worry they are waiting for their mummy or daddy at the door when not allowed inside, ...and the tenderness in their silent questions ...it gives me the chills.
(I am actually more of a cat person for these reasons, I feel unconfortable in the presency of dogs! Because they lack independency... and also , consequently show so much of our imperfection as a human).
Puppy is one of the most tender-innocent of my dolls.

I could not resist when came the time to picture Puppy in a neutral environment...
I just had to rework a bit on the hips, letting the ball joints less prominent, and also slipping elastics in...
the result is proving great for the mobility as well as for the line of the doll!
Here are some new pics. for those who did not sneak in the flickr album yet! I also finally listed the doll under the shop section name wood-jointed dolls...

Does anybody guess which must be the next doll of this jointed serie?
To give you a clue, I have a seven years old girl at home for the whole summer ;)

Because we seem to ressemble  what or who we love, I imagined a doll that would be anthropomorphic, but more than a animal dressed up like a human, some kind of an hybrid creature.

On the cute side still, perhaps a bit uncanny to some tastes, this serie of dolls I am preparing are meant to make you smile and reconciliate conflictuous things (where the wild things live) through tenderness and acceptance in a beautiful  figure.

So, this first one is... a puppy, short haired, chubby and pointed ears , can you recognise the inspiration or maybe find what breed (don't be fooled by the long fur on her back, that is just another "wild" thing:) )?

I had fun jointing the body with wood balls, and giving it a stand from which she can be pulled of to sit and pose on a place of your convenience.
She is just over 23 cm (9 inch) to give her more body than of my little pixies!
I hope you also like her four fingers hands...I always felt reluctant toward this kind of hands, and thus never made any till now. I think it does suit her bit of strangeness, and flatters her cuteness too. They are like happy stars.

You will find her for adoption in my etsy store, and watch more photos on her flickr album.
(Very soon) :)
