I took my very first lesson at SPINNING yesterday, and these are my attempts at getting it done!
The ship that has so much fluff on its back does not produce soft hair, it was all quite surprising.
I am really looking forward to the next lesson, there will be some teaching about coloring too!
Horvath Adrienn, has a very warm and interesting workshop at Csillag Hegy in Budapest.

In the meanwhile of course, I will need to practice a lot, and even more, till I can get something of use at all...
No new doll for now, I am in a rewinding and much needed grounding process!

One of the things I love most when creating dolls is, that you always have to change activity in order to create accessories or pieces of clothing, apart from constructing the doll itself. It allows browsing very different technics and trials of all sorts!
I also like to mix textures and mediums, (but to stay along natural fibers ...) rather than fix every need with wool. But that is why I am rather a doll maker even more than a wool felter.

Also, experimenting new things is a moto for me and I can't do twice the same job, no recipe. This leads me to further considerations,

ON TEACHING MY ART:

I am often getting requests for teaching, but I would not know how, really!
I don't have one way to do things, it kind of happens.
True, along the years I did acquire habits for practical use, things that I know will work, but never in terms of shapes to reproduce or "put together" like in a pattern.

I do believe however, in felting hard and experimentation, tries and fails (lots of fails), and try again.
Yes it takes time (a lot sometimes!), but it will be your way, you will truly understand and control what you are doing, and more over, the path as well as the result will be yours! And it totally worth it.

Why want to make something same as what another person does?
I understand also that passing over the technique is an important thing to do, maybe. And also that if you are a hobbyist, you do not have either the time and consuming passion for it.

I, for myself, consider my work too much in the experimenting -creating stadium to have the time and the mind on having students. For the moment. It is the work I have chosen to do full time, I embrace it with its graces and its disadvantages.
That is why I must turn down such requests, and I hope I do not sound secretive for my "tricks" or just plain snob.
I am very willingly giving humble advices and encouragements when requested, in Facebook groups or anywhere else it is the theme. And I am interested in communication and flow of ideas.

But I am afraid, if the time comes, it will mean I will be able to concentrate fully on explaining, and rather than on doing, as hard an achiever type I am ever!
More, given that I would not be challenged nor thrilled  by the creating dolls journey any longer, I might rather turn my interests on something radically different!

Anyway, I hope you can keep your feet cool for the summer!
It is rather exhaustingly warm in Hungary these days, and this doll is all about toes out in spite of the new shoes!
Are you also a bare foot hard worker type of being as I am?

That is me, I don't look too happy on the picture although I was awarded first price for both the dolls I entered in the competitions!
And I am very pleased to furthermore have met with my fellow doll makers in Hungary!

Here I took fast pics from before sending the dolls for the show (last minute run I can say!)
